A YOUNGISH BLACK CROW FELL INTO OUR YARD AND CAN'T FLY AWAY. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO. I'M CONSIDERING CALLING A RE-LOCATION SERVICE, BUT IT OBVIOUSLY HAS A NEST IN A NEARBY TREE BECAUSE ITS PARENTS ARE CIRCLING THE HOUSE AND YELLING AT IT FOR BEING THE ~*SPECIAL*~ KID OF THE FAMILY.

MY MOTHER IS ACTING LIKE THE BIRD IS A KITTEN AND IS TRYING TO COAX IT INTO A BOX.

IT'S NOT GOING INTO THE BOX.

ETA: CRISIS AVERTED. THANKS GUYS ♥

Man, I kept reading that as "cow".

Uhh. I dunno D: if you go near it the parents won't take it back anyway. It's probably going to die unless a professional moves it, and...man, idk.

If it's a baby, I wouldn't touch it because then the mother might not go near it again.

But if she can get it into the box and you guys can take it to a vet, that's probably one possibility. The other would be the call wildlife services, I think.

Good luck!

I'd call animal control ask for an opinion. Unless you have a nearby animal sanctuary where you could drop the little fellow? Good luck!

This sounds like a good idea to me.

I hope the baby bird is okay!

When I found a crow, the lady I talked to said that if it wasn't sick, I should take it back to where I found it and leave it there for its family to take care of.

Maybe you can find something on the internet that will help?

ETA: You're localish; let me give you her info. Her name is Susan Doggett and her # is 714-637-8355. (She's not a particularly warm fuzzy person, but she's licensed and one of the few bird rehab people who take crows.

What did you end up doing with it?

We thought it flew away last night, right after I got off the phone with a lady who was giving me advice, but it was hiding and popped up again. Then this morning, it finally hopped onto our fence and then flew/hopped onto some tall bushes behind our yard. I want to assume that's where its nest was, because its parents quieted down after that. :)
